PHP/XML Programmer/Web Developer
This is a Full Time position.
As the Lead Web Developer, you live and breathe PHP, XML and MySQL on Apache and Linux platform. You understand the Internet’s backbone from the inside and out. You will manage existing web based applications as well as create new ones. You have solid experience creating database driven web sites on the LAMMP platform. You are an expert on Web Services models on the open source platform. You are capable of processing diverse business requirements and sorting these out into unified channels –strong visualisation skills – towards an appropriate solution.
Job Description for PHP/XML Programmer/Web Developer:
- Maintain, design and develop web based applications for content management, distribution and syndication systems utilizing open source technologies on the LAMMP platform
- Set-up, manage and optimize application systems and servers using cPanel3.
- Champion improvements in production and efficiency by proactively analyzing user/project/system requirements; testing and improving performance of applications and systems.
- Customize scripts such as phpBB2, vBulletin, OSCommerce, etc.
Qualifications for PHP/XML Programmer/Web Developer position:
- 3 years developing database driven web applications, solutions and systems on the LAMPP platform. Experience in complete project life cycle from system design to testing, tuning and optimization of client-server web applications a big plus.
- 3 years of database design, programming and optimization with open source RDBMS’s preferably MySQL.
- Expert in Php RegEx functions; parsing and processing raw pages to XML/RSS feeds.
- Solid experience Web Services on open source platform. Expert level in design and implementation of Web Services from RSS to XML, XSL and SOAP.
- Knowledge of other programming languages/platforms such as .NET, C#, Java, JSP, CGI/PERL an advantage.
- Expert level on Php, MySQL and Javascript.
- Expert level on phpBB2, OsCommerce, vBulletin, WordPress and other OpenSource applications.
- Above average communication skills in written English.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Information Technology or equivalent experience.
- Professional certifications not a requirement but a plus.
