The Philippines gets its own Search Engine Marketing Conference
The Philippines gets its own Search Engine Marketing Conference via SEMCON 2007, with no less than the SEO guru Aaron Wall of SEOBook fame as the main attraction. Kudos to Marc Macalua for catalyzing this nascent community focused on Internet Marketing and Search Engine Optimization. When I first got here in Feb 2005, not a lot of people knew what SEO and Internet Marketing was – thanks to Marc’s PR abilities, SEO is not that alien of a job title anymore.
Marc has two free passes for SEMCON up for grabs, my response
1) I deserve the two tickets to SEMCON coz I’m an experienced SEM pro since 1998. My SEM efforts have driven 7 figure revenue$ for the companies I have worked with.
2) I’ll most likely use any tips to make more money for my clients and myself – ain’t that the bottomline? However, I’ve found these types of conferences to be more for networking rather than discovering earth shattering/groundbreaking/life changing discoveries. Not even Aaron Wall’s appearance has me raising my expectations (I’ll just buy his SEOBOOK which is only $79). Spoken like a true cynic huh? ;) I will really need a free pass to attend coz forking P8k+ is definitely out of the question.
I can not attend and still feel good about it. But for SEO and SEM newbies, I’m sure you folks will get some insights from this gig. Consider the P8k an investment toward your SEO/SEM racket/business.
